he main character Shinji Ikari is a boy with an introverted personality and the
pilot of Evangelion EVA 01, the Prototype. "Neon Genesis Evangelion" has made
an unforgettable impact on the animation fans nation-wide. This is the first theatre version
that fans have long awaited for. This film is divided into two parts "Part I: Death"
and "Part II: Rebirth".
"Part I: Death" is the whole compiled version from 1st~24th episodes
of the TV series. Depicted here are the battles between the three Evangelion
pilots Shinji Ikari, Rei Ayanami, Asuka Sohryu Langley and the enemy "Shito" (Angels).
Part I is not only a compilation of episodes, but it includes additional new cuts
and complementary explanations to the TV versions. Then the story moves on to
"Part II: Rebirth"
Peace reigned in the world after all Shitos (Angels) disappeared.
But things changed quickly after someone attempted to hack into the NERV Headquarters'

computer "MAGI". It was the take over of NERV by the secret
organization SEELE. The genius scientist Ritsuko
prevented the hacking but a direct takeover by
the Strategic Defense Force was about to take place.
Soldiers entered into NERV Headquarters. EVA were
to be hidden deeper underground with the pilots
but there are no pilots to be found except for
Asuka who is unconscious and hospitalized. NERV
personnel are slaughtered one after the other.
While intruders continue to pour in one way, Misato
goes to save Shinji left alone amidst the enemies.
She finds him looking totally lost.
Meanwhile Asuka who had lost consciousness in the
previous battle had been hidden with EVA |

deep in the lake. She is awakened by the vibrations of
the depth bombs being dropped in the lake. Her
heart awakens from the illusionary fears of death
and she makes a brilliant recovery. She throws
the frigates, dodges the missiles in mid-air, and
destroys the enemies one by one. But a new enemy
appears. 9 EVA in pure white color keeps circling
above the EVA 02, seemingly forever.
