A
story that is beautiful and elegant as well as weird and strange, it revolves around the main character, a god of death named Asato Tsuzuki, his partner Hisoka Kurosaki, his colleagues in the Summons Department, Seiichiro Tatsumi and Yutaka Watari and their common enemy, the mad doctor Kazutaka Muraki. The original comics by Yoko Matsushita have the sales record of over four million copies total (11 volumes of the series are on sale as of October 2002), a very popular series.
Jyuocho is an bureau in Meifu or the world after death for judging the crimes of people committed while living. Enmacho Shokanka (Summons Department of Hades) provides the back up for the management of Jyuocho and helps guide the lost souls in the world of the living.
Asato Tsuzuki is god of death with 70 years of service working in the Summons Department. It seems that there has been an increase in the number of unnatural deaths recently in the Nagasaki district where he is in charge. In fact, he finds a weird chain of serial killings in the Nagasaki area. All the victims have sharp fang bite marks in their necks and their blood have been drained... Right away, Tsuzuki begins to investigate the incident.

a partner and it is decided that his brother Gushoshin is to accompany him for the time being. When the two are investigating, a vampire presumed to be the culprit appears on the scene. They hurry after him but fail to catch him. At this point, someone nudges Tsuzuki in his back with the muzzle of a gun. It is no other than his new partner Hisoka. It seems he mistook Tsuzuki for the vampire. He is an unsociable guy but they say manager Konoe scouted him himself. Hisoka has very strong psychic powers. Perhaps that was his misfortune because he ended up becoming a partner to someone no person wished to team up with, the "free-loader" of Enmacho, Masato Tsuzuki.
It is an incompatible pair that Tsuzuki and Hisoka make..... The two
reluctantly continue the investigation or the case. Then they realize that the Maria Won, Diva of Hong Kong happened to be visiting Japan for the Nagasaki Song Festival during the same dates as the sequence of dates when the vampire attacked. Chasing Maria, Tsuzuki and Hisoka infiltrate into the TV station but are attacked by the gigantic white dragon Ouryu. What destiny awaits the two? (Stay tuned.)
