he fifth "SLAYERS" by Hajime Kanzaka to be shown in the screens. Characters from the television series are introduced in the theatrical version for the first time. Junichi Sato from "Magic User's Club", worked on the script and directed this theatrical version. In Japan, the film was shown together in the theatres with "Sakura Wars : The Movie", "Azumanga Daioh" and "Di Gi Charat : The Movie".
  Self professed genius and beauty, the ingéue magician Lina Inverse and self professed guardian Gourry Gabriev have come together to the seaside town looking for a special cuisine of the locality as usual. It started well at first as Lina, lured by the delicacy of "funamori" (sashimi filled boat platter), decided to help out the local fishermen. However getting somewhat greedy, she uses her magic for catching and badly damages the fishing boat. She also destroyed the ancient ruins that have sealed in the tribe of evil spirits. In the meantime, Gourry who had been actually helping the fishing gets to eat his

share of the bountiful "funamori".
  But this turned out to be the start of the tragic comedy. Because when Gourry starts enjoying the local delicacy octopus, he loses his human language. He can only speak the octopus language. It is a contagious disease that is the result of the evil spell. Anyone eating the octopus with the evil powers ends up unable to speak anything but octopus-ese.
  The disease spreads quickly and pretty soon the town is filling up with people speaking octopus-ese, including people who have not eaten the octopus. The would- be- rescuers, Zelgadiss and Ameria rush in to help but they both get the disease. The cause behind the evil disease		 is the tribe of evil spirits released from the ancient ruins Lina destroyed. They have come back and big tidal waves are about to hit the town. They are in a great danger but Lina succumbs to the disease as well and cannot use her magic. Can Lina and friends who can speak only Octopas-ese save the town from destruction?
