among the beyblade tops. A boy who is cheerful and bright,
Takao Kinomiya is one of the beybladers. Takao is cutting his kendo
lesson again today in order
to go to the neighboring town. He is due to compete for
the beyblade championship with Akira. But Akira loses against a boy
named Hiruta who robs him of his beyblade.
Angry with Hiruta for such an act, Takao challenges him
to a battle. Takao practices hard all night in order to take down Hiruta's
beyblade top, which has steel wrapping
for protection. The effort pays off and he wins his victory.
Then suddenly the leader of "Shell Killers
" gang, Kai shows up on the scene. "Shell Killers" are rough beyblader gang. They are messing around making trouble everywhere but they are also trying
to find a "special beyblade". Angry with Kai for stepping on the loser's top, Takao challenges him
to a battle. But Takao's beyblade is destroyed playing against Kai's beyblade "Doranza".
At the appearance of a strong foe, Takao gets worked up and with the help of Akira and Professor,
who is doing a research on beyblades, and he creates a new blade! However, Professor
with the intention of making it even more powerful goes home and studies the data on it.
Kai who wants to get his hands on a mysterious beyblade finds out about the research, forcibly
takes the Professor away with him...
