N
ekojiru first appeared on the alternative comic magazine "Garo" in 1990. The
characters sprang from the wild imagination of the late
artist Nekojiru who was a constant enigma. With big round
eyes and adorable stumpy figures sister Nyaako and brother
Nyata are tied with strong and tender love. Driven by
the innocence and the cynical character, Nyaako and Nyata carries out mean and cruel acts.
After 10
years from birth, fantastic
and surrealistic image were brought together in the original video animation
"Nekojiru-so" which allows the audience to take a trip
far off from reality. Respecting the image of the original
work, only BGM and sound effects were applied instead of
dialogues. Participating in number of film festivals around
the globe, "Nekojiru-so" was awarded the "Best Short Film"
