in a world paralleling Japan's Sengoku period, an out-of-this-world
fantasy that portrays flamboyant fighting and friendship.
Studio Deen, which also created "Fruits Basket", "Soul Hunter", and "You're Under Arrest" produced this animation.
The setting is Sekigahara in the year 1600. As the Western
and Eastern armies are clashing on the battlefield, a giant meteorite falls from
the sky. This is the beginning of a parallel world heretofore unknown to all.
Four years later, the world has become a battlefield overrun by monsters called
Kenyo that were created by the large meteorite.
The main character, Kyoshiro Mibu, has lost his memory
and is traveling about as a druggist. He is a wanted man as a result of eating
a meal and running out without paying for it. |

He is later discovered and captured by a bounty hunter named Yuya Shiina. Suddenly,
a Kenyo appears and attacks the two of them!!
However, this awakens in Kyoshiro his alter ego, Onime no Kyo (Demon
Eyes Kyo), who has been dormant since the battle four years ago. The personality
of Kyo is vastly different from that of the weakling Kyoshiro. A feared, legendary,
and murderous demon who killed 1,000 warriors, it is said that those who cross
his path never live to set foot in their hometown again.
The body of Kyo, possessing the greatest strength and ferocit in
history, has been sealed up as a result of the meteor blast. In order to search
for his own body, Kyo travels through the deep forest with Yuya; the Sanada Ten
Braves, led |

by Yukimura Sanada; young ninja Sasuke, whose assortment of weapons includes kendama (ball
and cup), sword, and a concealed knife; Benitora, who is
adept at wielding a spear; and Izumo no Okuni, a mysterious
woman. However, a band of monsters called Junishinsho stand
in their path.
Why do the Junishinsho try to block Kyo and his group? And what
is the true identity of the dark ruler operating behind the Junishinsho? In her
attempt to catch Kyo, who has a price on his head, Yuya, becomes drawn to Kyo.
The riddle of Ieyasu, who is manipulated by the Junishinsho. The Gozen Jiai (an
Imperial match fought in front of Shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa). The confrontation between Hanzo Hattori, leader of the ninjas, and a Kumo Onna
(spider woman). The battle in the forest and treachery at the hands of friends?!
